Under the Data Protection (Bailiwick of Guernsey) Law 2001 and the European Communities (Implementation of Privacy and Electronic Communications) (Guernsey) Ordinance 2004, it is a legal requirement that websites include a privacy statement declaring how Channel Island Finance (CIF) process personal data from this website.

The information you provide is used by CIF to assess and consider requests by you to use the facilities of CIF. CIF  may apply for a search of your records with registered Credit Reference Agencies. Our search will be recorded and seen by other organisations that make searches. We may use your information in order to tell you about products and services that may interest you. We may also pass your information to agencies conducting market research for us and to selective insurers who may use it for marketing purposes.

Your Internet Protocol address (IP address) may be collected to help us diagnose problems with our server, identify you during a particular session, gather broad demographic data and to assist in the administration of our site. When you use the internet you computer has an assigned IP address which does not contain any identifiable personal information about you.

If the data we hold on you is inaccurate you have the right to have it corrected, or erased if we do not have a legitimate reason for retaining your data. You must apply in writing for any request and we will comply within 60 calendar days. We take our security responsibilities seriously, employing the most appropriate physical and technical measures, including staff training and awareness and these measures are reviewed regularly.
